SMART MELODY wins Thousand Guineas Prelude for Lees Racing

Kris Lees Racing got everyone talking last Sunday when star filly SMART MELODY (pictured) continued her unbeaten record from 5 starts to claim victory in the 1000 Guineas Prelude at Caulfield. Smart Melody took over at the top of the straight and sprinted quickly to put almost 3L on her rivals with a furlong to run. Pressure increased as the margin closed in the final stages but still the result was never in doubt. As to what's in store for this exciting filly, we are yet to hear - Thousand Guineas or Coolmore Classic?

Congratulations also to Eales Racing who also found the winner's circle at Caulfield following a win from BONDEIGER in the Inglis Cup.

Snowden Racing doubled up at Randwick after bookending the program - it was CATCH ME on debut a dominant winner of the opener and MAXIMUS under Tommy Berry who sailed home to win the last.

Doubles were also being celebrated in Adelaide when Richard Jolly Racing prepared SCHILLDORA to back-to-back wins and a smart win in the opener while MODULATE went on to make it four wins from his last five outings. It was also another successful trip to South Australia for Mick Price Racing after HOLY COMMAND led all the way to get the job done.

Multiple winners were the flavour of the day in Doomben when Gollan Racing teamed up with Brad Stewart to ride both GALTERO to three straight wins this campaign and COURTZA KING to his sixth career win. BOLD CHANCE was also super impressive granting Flying Start Syndications a ticket to the winner's circle

Over in the west, while plenty of WA fans were looking onto the AFL scores, Lindsey Smith Racing Stables were making plenty of noise after DUCK DUCK GOOSE was a deserving maiden winner after two runner-up efforts. Electra Bloodstock scored with Written Tycoon mare HOW TO FLY, while David Harrison Racing prepared COUNT TOMOZ OFF to a nice victory.

Across the waters and it was a double for Brent Crawford at Durbanville with VASCOSTREETTRACTOR and WATER SPIRIT on Saturday while SCHUCKRA was successful at Turffonterin for Sean Tarry. Congratulations also to Stephen Gray after OUR PINNACLE took out R7 in Singapore.
