Grahame Begg continues his winning streak in 2020!

Last weekend saw the launch of Rapid Racing at Flemington and Mick Price Racing were crowned the leading trainers of the series after the victory of PROPER ROGUE and the placing of the stables galloper Zende.

Staying with the Victorian theme, Group 1 racing was at Caulfield on Saturday and it was ANAHEED'S day in the sun in the Rubiton Stakes. The valuable Fastnet Rock filly was first-up from her Manikato Stakes placing and won with authority under Tim Clark. The winning run of the Grahame Begg stable also continued, this time with iron mare MISS SISKA who despite a wide run gained a Group 3 triumph over 1600 metres fresh – a remarkable performance for the daughter of So You Think.

Peter Hall returned to the winners enclosure to the cheer of the punters after LORDHELPMERUN was given the perfect run for favourite backers carrying the famous light blue and red silks of Steve Wolf at Pinjarra Park.

Meanwhile, Sunday was one of Tasmania's big days and on of their local stars bidding for a spot in the All-Star Mile MANDELA EFFECT was too classy taking out the Listed event – his eleventh win in 22 starts! The Trinder stable didn't miss out either after SILKSTONE and Anthony Darmanin scored first-up from Victoria.
