Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock ended their Spring Carnival on the right note as managing owners of Group 2 Zipping Classic winner SOUTHERN FRANCE who was super impressive in his second race down under coming from last.


A great spring for Mick Price Racing continued with TELEPLAY a mare in serious form following up her Melbourne Cup Day win with the Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Group 3 level. The stable also had success in Adelaide thanks to a Liam Riordan ride aboard STAROUZ. Laming Racing also got a valuable Group 3 victory with JAMAICAN RAIN too good in a thrilling finish under Linda Meech.


It was a big day on the Sunshine Coast for Esprit Racing who in the space of 45 minutes saddled up a race-to-race double thanks to SO DAPPER and MEWSTONE ROCK. The first won by 3 and a 1/4 lengths under Larry Cassidy and made it three wins from four starts, while the later a more season veteran for the stable who has now won five races. Tony Haydon gave favourite backers something to cheer after the promising KALIK kept an unbeaten preparation intact while Barry Baldwins fan favourite THE CANDY MAN saluted in the Mooloolaba Cup for his legion of fans thanks to a brilliant Matt McGillivray ride from Barrier 1.


Newcastle was centre stage in New South Wales and Snowden Racing did not miss out on a piece of the prize after TILIA ROSE got home in the Max Lees Classic for 2 year olds while James McDonald and John Thompson enjoyed success with INTO THE ABYSS later in the day at odds of $9.


Whilst on Sunday in the nations capital, Barbara Joseph and Paul Jones booked a spot into the lucrative Jericho Cup after TEN TIGERS won over 3400 metres.
