Paul Preusker booked himself a spot in the Melbourne Cup after SURPRISE BABY blew his rivals away when winning the Bart Cummings at Flemington on Saturday. He will be sure to be the locals hope and a popular choice in the great race.

It was also a big day for young Mitchell Freedman who blew punters out in the final race when MOONLIGHT MAID ran over the top of her rivals in the Edward Manifold Stakes as she heads towards an Oaks. Grahame Begg is also cashing in on the early 2yo riches after MILDRED, a Hinchinbrook filly, was too speedy again around Flemington in winning the Maribyrnong Trial.

The Steve ODea, Proven Thoroughbreds and Steph Thornton show rolls on in Queensland and this time it was 2yo filly GOTTA KISS who after two trials wins was a soft debut winner from midfield over 1000 metres. Chris Munce followed up 45 minutes later teaming up with Jim Byrne and Deep Field colt KAVAK leading all the way and claiming another win with THE CARPENTER while Kelly Schweida swooped from last when MAGSTOCK won his fifth race over 1600 metres at Eagle Farm on Saturday also having another win with PRINCE OF TIE.

It took Snowden Racing until the final race to hit the board on Saturday at Randwick but they trained the first two horses across the line! It was SIGNORE FOX and James McDonald who were the punters pal first-up from a spell. Darby Racing claimed a magnificent win with EVERY ROSE and Big Bear Racing scored a win with BRUTAL.

Gary Clarke rounded off his day strongly in Darwin with the final two winners after FRILLY DESIGN and HARMONIUM BELLS saluted, both in super easy fashion. Michael Hickmott would also have been pleased to hold off a team of stablemates with import FRANKED who toughed out for a strong staying win while Shayne Cahill made the winners circle with DEXTER YOU DEVIL and David Harrison scored a win with CRYPTIC LOVE.

Meanwhile, Adam Trinder was back to winning ways on Sunday after Mystic journey a day earlier with a double thanks to MAGIC WALER and ELTONS SONG for our friends at Roll The Dice.

Congratulations to all our overseas winning trainers; Glen Kotzen, Sean Tarry, Mike de Kock and Brett Crawford in South Africa, James F Peters in Singapore.
