Greg Hickman trained PIERATA scored an impressive victory in the Group 2 The Shorts

Greg Hickman ticked off another big sprint with stable star PIERATA at Randwick on Saturday when the iron horse held off Classique Legend and Redzel in a thrilling edition to the Group 2 Short Stakes.

John Thompson was also back at it again in the orange silks carried by Dreamforce to a big win recently when CUBA made easy work of it for apprentice Chris Williams to lead all the way, while Laurel Oak Bloodstock scored a win with SWEET SCANDAL.

It was Trevor Andrews who was doing the shouting in Western Australia when MISS WEST COAST and Jade McNaught combined for a dominating win at Belmont, her third in just seven starts while Steve Wolfe backers went home happy when MINUS LOOKS at 16/1 dropped back in grade and was too good for his rivals. Also on the winners list was JP Taylor Racing with LORENTINO.

Danny OBrien scored a double when SKIDDAW and FABRIC both won their races and Dick Leech claimed a win with GOLDEN DICE.

A job well done to Stephen Lee at Eagle Farm who got the chocolates with POLEMIC who relished the 1800 metres with Jake Bayliss while in Adelaide it was Richard and Chantelle Jolly doing the job again this time with BAYOU proving too strong and Shayne Cahill took a fantastic win with DEXTER YOU DEVIL.

Travelling the country and on Friday, Snowden Racing had success in Canberra when BULLET RAIDERS won in the closest of finishes and also had a win with MIRRA VISION while on Sunday Scott Brunton was able to break the drought with STRATUM ON FIRE who returned a winner.
