Im sure everyone is very excited for the debut of KitKat today. The track has improved slightly to a Heavy 8, which is still a bit of a concern as its had all week to improve. On her breeding, being out of a Mossman mare, she should love wet tracks, but I never really like debuting horses on Heavy ground.

There are 4 scratchings, so there will be a final field of just 10, with KitKat jumping from barrier 9. Rachel will have her work cut out trying to find a spot, but if she jumps well we will roll forward and try and slot in somewhere.

I feel the biggest danger is the other first starter, Bella Figura, who has trialled nicely behind us. Outside her, the others have exposed form which isnt overly strong.

A couple of big question marks for her today. Its always hard to win your very first race, and she has to travel, cope with the wet track, and also cope with the very windy conditions expected this afternoon. This is only a kick off point for her, so I wont be judging her too harshly today if she does a few things wrong today. Its all a learning experience, and im sure she will be better for todays outing.

Joe has a really nice opinion of our filly, so with luck in running, and if she handles the above mentioned conditions, im sure she will give us something to cheer.

Ill be on course from around 1:30pm. Admission is free, so there is no need to worry about ticketing. See you somewhere on the lawn, hopefully in the sun, and out of the wind!

Wishing you the very best of luck today. Go KitKat!

Kind Regards,

James Moss
