News
Rare opportunity to race a proven top-class colt! We've all been saving our pennies over the last few months with uncertainty around inflation and interest rate rises, but as we tick off the second consecutive quarter of falling inflation it is finally starting to look like there might be light at the end of the tunnel. As a result, the entire industry has become a buyer's market, with yearlings that were normally scooped up immediately after the sales now well and truly into their first or second preparations, still with plenty of shares remaining. Now there are opportunities to get involved in the ownership of rising 2YOs, taking the guesswork out on how they might develop, and having a fair idea what's under the bonnet.
This is where our U S Navy Flag colt comes in, and gee whiz, don't we know it! The stable was already full of praise for this colt after his efforts throughout his first educational preparation, but this really started to ramp up in a big way during and after his second prep. He has continued to exceed all of our expectations throughout his second preparation and has developed physically in leaps and bounds. He has natural ability in spades and in every way looks to be a proper top-class colt. At his current trajectory he looks the perfect Autumn 2YO and the stable have suggested it would be wise to nominate him for the Blue Diamond. The first crop of U S NAVY FLAG progeny are northern hemisphere 3YOs and are already performing at the highest level all around the world, with stakes winners in Ireland, France, the UK, the US, and the 10L Listed winner, CHANTILLY LACE, in NZ. There were three U S NAVY FLAGs in the 2YO G1 Sires Produce Stakes in NZ, and they finished 2nd, 3rd & 5th, and the filly, Aprilia, that finished in 2nd, was only beaten out of bad luck. Expect to see them featuring here in the Spring. This colt was born and raised in NZ and flown over to Australia by the vendors to sell at the Premier Sale, so we were able to buy an NZ-bred imported top line colt at exceptional value. In Autumn this year at The Championships, NZ-bred horses won 8 of the 10 G1 races, which is truly remarkable. He is a half to the 2019 G2 Stutt Stakes winner over 1600M at Moonee Valley, THE HOLY ONE, who sadly suffered a career ending injury before we were able to see the best of him. U S NAVY FLAG was a recent savvy acquisition by The Oaks Stud, securing the young sire off Coolmore, just before his first crop started dominating in NZ. We will most definitely begin to see a lot more of them in Australia in the coming years! This colt is the real deal and could just be your ticket to the big race days! If you're just going to get involved in the one horse this year you must consider this colt!

Updates
It has been another busy month for the team at TR with 7 of our horses in work or racing!
Our Magnus x Desert Pegasus filly, D'argento x Miss Entice colt & U S Navy Flag x Entirely Saintly colt were recently transported to to the lush paddocks of Tilba Farm for a well-earned break after successful preparations. The D'argento colt was broken in straight out of the sales complex and took the whole experience in his stride. The Magnus filly and U S Navy Flag colt both arrived at the stable in magnificent order this preparation and rounded it out nicely running evens over 400M last weekend. The Magnus filly is quick and incredibly strong but has another good growth spurt to come before she is ready to head to the races. The U S Navy Flag colt will only need a quick 2-3 week break before returning to the stables in preparation for an educational jump out later in the Spring.
Rambition has just completed his first week back with Tyler Aitken for a quick educational refresher before heading home to Pat Kearney's on course stable at Ballarat. He looks to have spelled exceptionally well and has arrived in the stable with plenty of condition. The goal for his second preparation will be to further familiarise the colt with stable life and get him out on track and up to evens pace.
I'm Airborne was transported down to Warrnambool from his pre trainer late last week in preparation for his first jump out of the prep. He rounded out his last preparation with a solid jump out at Hamilton but the stable opted to give him just a little more time, so we look forward to seeing what he is able to achieve this preparation. Definitely one to follow throughout the Spring!
Paulartes is now in week 5 of her preparation after a small set back, and is tracking nicely to her first jump out of the prep towards the end of next month. She'll be back at the races at the perfect time, so we will be hoping that she is able to knock off her maiden early and work through the grades. She has always been rated highly by anyone that has ever jumped on her back, so we are hoping for a little luck this preparation so that we are able to see what she is capable of.
William (NZ) will be lining up for his next Australian start at Pakenham tomorrow on the synthetic over 1400M. He jumped well last start from the carpark draw but got stuck 3 wide, no cover on a hot tempo, and then found trouble on the home straight. He has a nice long economical stride and will be better over the mile, so we will be hoping he is able to use his tactical early speed from barrier 2 to land on pace on the rail where he wants to be. This horse has a lot of improvement to come and will be bigger and better next prep but is definitely a sneaky chance tomorrow at big odds. Our Pierata x So Far Sokool filly has now been in work for 7 weeks and continues to impress Pat and his team at Ballarat. She will likely head to the paddock for a well-earned break in the next 7-10 days after what has been a very successful second preparation. We had a promo video put together of the filly last week which you can watch below.
Highlights
With the end of the racing season fast approaching, we thought it was appropriate to choose our highlight of the year this month. It is tough to beat Shuriken's win in the $175K VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade on Ballarat Cup Day as the highlight of our first racing season. You don't always need to leave the races with the silverware to have a fantastic day, but it certainly does make it all that much sweeter. An absolutely fantastic day with an even better group of owners! You can also watch the Racing Victoria VOBIS Gold promo video featuring Shuriken by clicking here!
