News Statuario earns his shot at G1 glory!
Statuario will take his place in the $1M G1 South Australian Derby over 2500M at Morphettville on Saturday, and has firmed into the clear favourite out of an inside draw. John Allen has opted to stick with the big grey after recently taking out the VRC St Leger on the Busuttin & Young trained galloper, American Wolf (NZ). John will be gunning for his 5th win in the race, with an unparalleled four victories from the past nine editions on Howard Be Thy Name (2016), Volatile Mix (2017), Russian Camelot (2020) and Explosive Jack (2021). Trainer Emma-Lee Browne caught up with ANZ Bloodstock earlier in the week, and shared the following.
“We’re very happy with him. He had his final piece of serious work on Saturday, going around with our mare Basilinna, and Lucy was very happy with him. He’ll have a little sprint to keep him sharp on Tuesday.
“You can’t be too confident. They don’t like to give them away, these Group 1s, and it will be a tough enough race. And it’ll be a big field and luck in running has to come into it – a lot can go wrong on raceday.
“So hopefully we’ve got him there as best we can, things will go our way and he puts his hand up.”
Statuario will travel over to Adelaide tonight and will be well represented on the day, with a large group of owners travelling from all around the country to support their champ. We wish his trainers Emma-Lee & David Browne and the entire team at Sparta Racing, Lenny Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock, who will be representing TR on the day, and his extremely excited connections the very best of luck on Saturday! 🏆🤞

New Ownership Opportunities!

TR have secured another quality D'argento colt from HTBA!
We’ve been keeping a close eye on the D’Argento progeny for some time now, securing our very own stable star Statuario back at the 2023 Inglis Gold Sale for just $18K, seeing him work through his paces as a young horse, and into a fantastic first racing preparation. Since then, we have inspected all D'Argento's available at public auction, and were fortunate to secure a lovely filly earlier in the year that is currently with the best breaker in the business, Julien Walsh of Booralite Park. She was recently named Silver Realm by her owners and by all reports is going super! Today we are happy to announce that we have just secured a striking young colt out of last weekends Inglis HTBA Sale for another absolute bargain at just $24K! 🕵️ This is the first colt to tick all the same boxes for the team at TR, our man Lenny Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock, and trainers Emma-Lee & David Browne of Sparta Racing, and is a striking image of Statuario, and in both his presence and demeanour.
This colt is nominated and paid up for the rich $12.5M+ Inglis Race Series & $100K Xtra Maiden Bonuses!
To be trained by G1-winning trainers Emma-Lee & David Browne, who recently took out the $1M VOBIS Showdown in emphatic fashion with stable star Mcgaw, and $200K Listed Galilee Series Final with Statuario, after a dominant display of his staying prowess! ***SHARE PRICING & PDS PENDING*** 1% - $520.00 2.5% - $1,300.00 5% - $2,600.00 10% - $5,200.00

COME RACE IN A FILLY WITH RADIO & TV STAR MICK SHARKIE! 🦈
Our man Lenny Russo spotted this stunning brown filly while inspecting the Fierce Impact's out at Leneva Park, and it was love at first sight for the team at TR! Lenny has a 100% winners to starters strike-rate for a return of over $1.2M for our owners whenever he finds one for us out of a farm! This filly is not only an exceptional type but is also bred on the same extraordinary DEEP IMPACT (JPN)/ANABAA (USA) cross responsible for our first stable star, Shuriken! He showed plenty of class to win on debut, took out the $175K VOBIS Gold Eureka Stockade on Ballarat Cup day, and came from dead last on the turn to finish 4th in the $500K G2 Sandown Guineas. Shuriken was a $15K weanling purchase that had 4 starts for us, securing his ownership group over $156K in prizemoney, and was subsequently sold to HK for $1M. The cross carries an A++ rating on TrueNicks with over 20% stakes-winners to starters on the turf! CORSAIRE was an outstanding 2YO, winning the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes on debut, finished 2nd in the G3 Blue Diamond Preview F, and when resuming as a 3YO took out the Listed Quezette Stakes at Caulfield. Dam of 6 to race for 4 individual winners. Half-sister to the Woodlands Stakes winner, DEBONAIRLY, and Our Songbird, dam of close relation and 2nd placegetter in the 2024 G2 Danehill Stakes, Reserve Bank, who is set to line up in the $1M G1 William Reid Stakes on Saturday! There could be a HUGE pedigree update incoming! 🎯
Lindsay Park have the full 2YO sister that has just made her return to the stable for her second preparation and by all reports is going super! Sharkie and the team at Leneva Park have retained ownership in the filly, and look forward to cheering her home with the ownership group! The filly is completed her breaking-in earlier in the month and is currently enjoying a well-earned break. She is not too far away now from kicking off pre-training at Leneva Park, and will then head out to Pakenham for a baby preparation to familiarise her to stable life.

Kermadec x Exceedingly French colt - to be trained by Sparta Racing

This well-balanced and very attractive colt really struck the eye of the team at TR and our bloodstock agent, Lenny Russo of Bluegrass Bloodstock at Premier, and is set to be trained by G1-winning trainers and good pals Emma-Lee & David Browne of Sparta Racing.
Lenny has only ever had two KERMADEC's make his final shortlist prior to this colt, and they both ended up G1 winners TUVALU and MONTEFILIA!
This colt has 2YO written all over him, being out of the Listed 2YO St Albans Stakes winner, EXCEEDINGLY FRENCH, and half to the G2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic and 2YO VOBIS Gold Elvstroem Classic winner, LA FALAISE. The St Albans Stakes will be run and won this weekend at The Valley! This colt is bred on the same exceptional cross as G1 Toorak Handicap winner TUVALU, and a whopping 20% stakes-winners to starters, including dual G1-winning Champion 2YO and newly acquired Arrowfield shuttle stallion VANDEEK (GB), and recent Listed La Teste Stakes winner HOLGUIN (GB).

Updates
| | Our most recent purchase, the D'argento x Queen Of Manhattan colt, has made his way down from the Inglis Riverside Stables and has commenced his breaking-in with Julien Welsh at Booralite Park. |
The Fierce Impact x Corsaire filly is now nearing her return to work and will commence pre-training with the team at Leneva Park shortly.
| | Our Kermadec x Exceedingly French colt has now been with Julien Welsh at Booralite Park for just a tick under 2 weeks and is progressing through his educstion nicely. |
Nuggies is still out in the paddock enjoying a well-earned lengthy break. We would love to have her back up and firing for when racing returns to The Valley for her opportunity to take out a metro win in one of the 955s!
| | Papal Army (NZ) is nearing his return to the stables after an extended break, with a goal of targeting the final 3YO metro staying races of the season. |
Paulartes is nearing her second trial of the preparation and will be back at the races later in the month.
| | Pinero returned in good order this time in, finishing 2nd at Kerang first up. She will now look to line up in the 1100M Fillies and Mares maiden at Kilmore on Monday, where she should be tough to beat. |
We opted to head back to the races with Rambition over the weekend a touch under done, rather than heading to another jump out. We were very pleased with his efforts finishing 6th in the $50K maiden. He will take great benefit out of the run and will be one to keep an eye on next start.
| | Silver Realm is nearing the end of her education process at Booralite Park and will soon head to the Sparta Racing Pakenham stable for a short baby preparation to round out her education. |
Statuario is set to travel over to Adelaide tonight in preparation for the $1M G1 South Australian Derby on Saturday.
Highlights
Celebrating the Listed Galilee Series Final
Hard not to be a tad biased this month after Statuario took out the Listed Galilee Series Final at Caulfield last month, with a huge group of owners on course to celebrate! It was fantastic to tick off our first stakes win in only our 4th racing season as syndicators, and it was incredibly satisfying to be able to reward many of our loyal clients who have supported us since day one.
